During 2012 the United Way of Sevier County allocated and gave grants to nineteen community partner agencies totalling $155,000 that provided a variety of program services to Sevier Countians.


2011/12 FUNDED PROGRAMS

  1. BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS ($20,000) – Program: Education and career development/improvement for children.

  2. CHILD & FAMILY TENNESSEE ($4,000) – Program: Kids on the Block education and academic achievement.

  3. DOUGLAS COOPERATIVE ($5,000) – Program: Adult Day Services/Special Needs.

  4. DOUGLAS CHEROKEE/SEV. COUNTY NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER ($5,000) - Program: Sevier County Help Fund providing assistance to the needy.

  5. EAST TENNESSEE 211 REFERRAL ($3,500) – Program:  211 Sevier County Access and Services. 

  6. EPILEPSY FOUNDATION OF EAST TENNESSEE ($1,000) – Program: Education and access to social services.

  7. GIRL SCOUT COUNCIL OF THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS ($2,000) – Program: Experiential Education/Academic Achievement.

  8. GREAT SMOKY MTN. COUNCIL, BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA ($4,000) - Program: Academic Acheivement/Boy Scouting.

  9. HEARING AND SPEECH FOUNDATION ($2,500) - Program: Hearing Aid assistance /providing hearing aids and services for economically disadvantaged children and youth.

  10. HELEN ROSS MCNABB CENTER ($2,500) – Program: Child Net Sevier/Health Care Coverage & Prevention.

  11. LEGAL AID OF EAST TENNESSEE ($5,000) – Program:  Civil Legal Assistance/Financial Stability.

  12. MOUNTAIN HOPE GOOD SHEPHERD CLINIC ($17,000) – Program: Basic Services.

  13. SAFE HARBOR CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER ($30,000) – Program: Therapy for Physical/Sexually Abused Children.

  14. SAFESPACE ($10,000) – Program: Basic Services for Victims of Domestic Violence.

  15. SENIOR CITIZENS HOME ASSISTANCE SERVICE ($1,000) – Program:  Homaker Services/Special Needs.

  16. SEVIER COUNTY CHILDREN'S SHELTER ($20,000) – Program: Children-Basic Needs.

  17. SEVIER COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING ($15,000) - Program: Seniors on the Go/Meals on Wheels.

  18. SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER OF EAST TENNESSEE ($5,000) – Program: Advocacy Program/Access to Social Services.

  19. SEYMOUR VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT ($2,500) – Program: EMS first response/extrication/ fire suppression.
